Transmog, Evasion and Healing You Gear For
Written with today's names: some places and characters in this entry have been renamed since it shipped.
The largest update since the alpha opened. Two systems change how you build a character, Evasion and Healing, and one changes how you look while doing it.
Transmog
- At the transmog bench, feed a look item and a Transmog Scroll, and the piece you are wearing takes on its appearance. Stats, refines, attribute tiers and set bonus stay exactly as they were. Head, armour and weapon can all be disguised.
- The look item is consumed, and reverting is free. Everyone sees the new look, down to your clones, your Henge copies and your profile card.
- VIP supporters get a Transmog Scroll chest every month on their own subscription cycle. It is a chooser, not a random roll.
Dodge is now Evasion
- Dodge was a flat percentage that gear could stack faster than anything could answer. Evasion is a rating on a curve: 150 gives a 10.9% dodge chance, 500 gives 22.2%, 1,600 gives 32.0%. Each point buys a little less than the last, and none buy nothing.
- Evasion from gear is cut by 40%. Stacking it purely off affixes was a shortcut around a build rather than a build.
- Accuracy is the new counter-stat. It subtracts from a defender's Evasion before the curve is read, and only against players, because only players have builds. It comes from the Ring of the Hawk (+80), the Seer's Pendant (+100), Tale's Scimitar (+60) and one of the eye techniques (+400 while active).
Healing is something you gear for
- Healing used to be half of Jutsu Power and nothing else, so a damage caster healed more than a dedicated healer. Now every healing jutsu is cut to 65%, and a new Healing Bonus stat hands the difference back to whoever gears for it.
- Gear for it fully and you heal exactly what you did before: +54% from the new healer gear, and 0.65 × 1.54 = 1.00. Shields are untouched.
New gear
- Celestial Cloudweaver, the healer's set: with both pieces, your barriers absorb 35% more and cover one more ally.
- Heavy Shinobi, for the front line: with the full set, every hit you take grants +3% damage reduction for 6 seconds, stacking five deep.
- Blossomlight Staff: +20% healing and no Jutsu Power at all.
- The Last Tale (Tale's Scimitar and Seer's Pendant): below 30% health, enemies cannot evade you.
- None of it is sold. Each piece drops in its own region, roughly once in 300 kills, and has a crafting recipe.
- Three pieces nobody could earn before can now drop, including a legendary greatsword reworked into a tank blade (+500 max HP) and an outfit that is the game's first item with a proc of its own: every spiralling chakra sphere you form hits for +30.
A new summon for the spore clan
Lv29, 50-second cooldown, lasts 12 seconds. A summoned ally grows out of the soil with a fifth of your health and drains your enemies with spores from range. It heals nobody while it drains, but when it falls or its time runs out, everything it drained comes back to you at once. Leave it standing and keep bleeding, or kill it and hand over the heal.
Fewer stuns, fairer brackets
- Five jutsu no longer stun, including both lightning-wreathed strikes and the lightning dragon from the sky. The stuns that remain have longer cooldowns.
- The Chuunin Tournament now seeds entrants by level and gear and pairs neighbours, so the closest matches come first.
Fixes
- The Arena shows a result card when a bout ends.
- Every helmet and hood now hides hair, and your clones hold a formation instead of stacking on one tile.
