Duels, a Right-Click Menu and a New Taunt Jutsu

Written with today's names: some places and characters in this entry have been renamed since it shipped.

Settle a rivalry on the spot, drag an enemy to your feet, and finally see your real health numbers. Several of these changes came straight from your reports.

Duels and the right-click menu

  • Right-click any character to open the game's own menu: Add Friend, Invite to Squad, Open character card and Duel. Text fields keep the normal browser menu, so copy and paste still work in chat.
  • Duels work inside villages, where PvP is otherwise off. The challenged player has 30 seconds to accept or decline, and declining costs nothing.
  • Both players see a 3-2-1 countdown, and the fight happens where you stand, with no loading screen. The result shows on the familiar Arena card.
  • Squadmates and shinobi of the same village can duel each other for the length of the bout.
  • Wins count for bounty contracts and ranked missions that name your opponent. Arena rating is not affected.
  • Players in Peaceful mode cannot duel. A bout lasts up to five minutes before it is a draw, and ends if either player leaves the map or logs out.

A new taunt jutsu for the ritual clan

  • Lv19, 120 chakra, 14-second cooldown. A dark-red seal flashes beneath you, a crimson pulse snaps out to your locked target, and blood-red tendrils drag them to your feet for 50 damage.
  • Against a monster it does something no other jutsu does: the enemy fights you and nobody else for 1.5 seconds. Mastery stretches that hold, up to 4 seconds at Mastery 20.
  • Against players only the pull lands. Forcing a person to attack you would be a stun by another name.
  • At Lv45 it upgrades to Congregation: 200 chakra, 22-second cooldown, no target needed. A circle about seven tiles across drags every enemy inside it to your feet and provokes every monster among them. It takes over the same slot and shares one Mastery track.

Raid chests are once per character

The daily raid-chest limit was being applied to your whole account, so clearing The Glassworks or The Ash Foundry on your main locked the chest for your alts. Each character now has its own daily claim, per raid and per difficulty.

The Ash Foundry is kinder to late deaths

Dying in phase 4 or 5, up on the plateau, used to send you back to the foot of the mountain, about 130 tiles away. You now stand back up on the corridor just below the plateau. Phases 1 to 3 are unchanged.

Your health numbers tell the truth

Your character did not change. The server multiplies your whole health pool by 1.6, and the interface was showing every number from before that step. Now Heavy Shinobi Armor shows +608 Max HP instead of +380, and one refinement level +90 instead of +56. Heals show what they really restore. Max Chakra, Defence and Stamina were never affected.

Also live

  • Pressing Tab once no longer makes your target flip between enemies on its own.
  • The Abyssal Kraken drops weapons on roughly half its kills, drawn separately from its Jutsu Scroll. Seven great pieces are in the pool, among them the Red Samurai Armor and the Blossomlight Staff.
  • Transmog Scrolls no longer drop from ordinary enemies, which they did by mistake for a few hours.
  • Peaceful mode no longer lets you capture or defend territory banners. Peaceful players do not count in the contest ring or earn capture rewards, and entering Peaceful mid-capture ends the attempt.
