A fix for everyone who played the Night of the Hollow Moon: the Chakra Crystals the event paid out reached your wallet, but never counted toward the medals that track how many Crystals you have obtained. Now they do.

Hollow Eclipse — A New Story Cast and a DPS Meter

The saga gets its own original cast, ten new story scenes and two redrawn raids, and a DPS meter measures your damage on dummies and bosses.

The main story now belongs to Chakra Online's own characters. Hollow Eclipse brings an original enemy faction and cast to every saga chapter, with new scenes, boss effects and two redrawn raids. There is also, finally, a way to see exactly how hard you hit.

Meet the cast

Every story character now has their own name and animated art. Your progress and everything you have earned carry over.

In the village: Instructor Ema at the Academy, Dagan proctoring the Chuunin exam and Sena in the Arena. The Frayed Witness waits at the first rift.

Faces Without Names: Captain Renga, Nemi, Mirae and Nacre. South of the forest village, a Maskbound Infiltrator and Kuro, who steps in and out of silver seams in the air.

The Lantern Covenant: Taren, the Maskbound Raiders and the Reedbound Sage, who is now also the giant your Kuchiyose calls, arriving behind you instead of on top of you.

Vessels of the Dunes: Marshal Adra and Namar with his Memory Husks. The Drowned Road: Maelin, Rokai and Veyra.

The Unbroken Oath: Sair. The Hollow Dawn: Kuren and Ivara.

Ten new story scenes

A single dialogue box now changes voice line by line, so characters talk to each other on screen.

Characters appear in the scene with you, such as Kuren kneeling where he fell, and stand where you can see them rather than behind a tree.

Some scenes hand you the evidence: a fractured anchor, an archive key, a lantern seal.

Kuro now fights back in his chapter: he winds up, closes his seam and steps out of a new one at your side.

Two raids, renamed and redrawn

The Glassworks: Vesryn and the boss Ren Ashblade, redrawn with obsidian wings and a smoked-glass sword. The control seal on his sword arm erupts when he enrages and shatters when he falls, and on a Normal or Solo clear he stays behind, kneeling and free. The raid's jutsu reward is now called the Control Sigil.

The Ash Foundry: Hayate rides the Cinderwing, Cinderwing divers dive with burning fuses, Resonance Latches hold their ground and strike anyone in reach, the dragon is now ash-metal, and the Ashfall Coda fills the air with ash.

The raid doors on the map show the new names, and the medals follow, from Glassbreaker to Forged in Ash.

New boss effects

Kuren blinks away and leaves a ghost replay behind, and his Silent Omen replays a strike.

Ivara sends out resonance fronts and tightens a lattice net.

Namar draws a three-plate shell from his Memory Husks; break them to shatter it.

Veyra pulls currents in from everyone her siphon catches.

Sair's Oath Grid is now a square with the same area as the old circle. It is the only rule that changed; timing and damage are the same.

Rifts and the Jounin Trial

Every rift now spills Shadow Wraiths; in the open-world tears they sink into the ground, travel beneath it and erupt. The rift medals are now Thin the Shadows, Nothing Lurks Here and Burn Away the Dark.

In the Jounin Trial, the route ledgers are books lying on the floor, the Captured Shinobi is a new scout who walks after you, and once your cover is blown the Eclipse Lookouts fight: they chase, swing, dodge and throw kunai.

The Chuunin exam's scrolls are the Dawn and Dusk Seal-Scrolls.

The DPS meter

Training dummies now have 1,000,000 HP. Hit one and a Measure your damage prompt appears over it. Press F (or tap the prompt) to start; the prompt shows your running total. Press F again, or stop hitting for 10 seconds, to get your report.

Boss fights measure themselves: the world boss, raid bosses, the Hollow Reaper and story bosses, from your first blow. The card appears when the boss is killed, and only then.

The report shows your total, time, DPS, hits and biggest hit, broken down by ability and by target. Burns count toward the jutsu that caused them, and summons toward their owner.

Extra Character Slots and a Drill Jutsu That Dashes

Buy up to four extra character slots, see at a glance which Jutsu Scrolls you already know, and ride the Muregari drill-cyclone as a dash.

A short release: more room on your roster, clearer Jutsu Scrolls, and one jutsu rebuilt the way its card always described it.

Extra Character Slots

New in the ✨ Premium Shop: an Extra Character Slot for 1,200 Crystals. It applies to your whole account, and you can buy up to four.

Bought slots stack with VIP: four to start, plus up to four bought, plus two while VIP, for 8 without VIP and 10 with it. If VIP lapses you never lose a character; you just cannot create another until you are under the limit.

When every slot is used, the character select screen now ends on an "All slots used" card that points you to the shop.

Jutsu Scrolls you already know

A scroll for a jutsu your character already knows now reads ✓ Known and is greyed out. Tap it and it reminds you to store the scroll for another character. Before, it showed a green "Already learned" that looked like a success.

A scroll is spent the first time it teaches a jutsu, at any level, and kept only when you already know it.

You can still learn a jutsu above your level, and the confirmation now tells you when you will be able to cast it.

The drill-cyclone becomes a dash

The Muregari's spinning-drill jutsu and its Double tier are no longer thrown. You become the cyclone, tear toward your target, strike the first enemy in your path and reappear where you stop.

The Double tier strikes twice at 55% each, so damage at equal stats is the same as before.

Both tiers now scale half from STR and half from INT.

The reach matches Scentline: 6 tiles, or 14 against a marked target, and the card shows it. Cast with no target and it carries you 6 tiles along your aim.

A new world boss with three new moves, prize chests for the Hollow Moon's top 10, Inspect for other players' gear, and a password reset.

The release that brought the Playstyle Update live also replaced the world boss, set out the prizes for the Halloween event and added two tools you have been asking for.

A new world boss: the Abyssal Kraken

The Abyssal Kraken now holds The Abyssal Grotto north of the mist village, still reached by Water Walking. It has all-new art, from the Abyssal Cannon to a Breach after every dive. When the lake darkens before a Cannon, get off the water.

Tentacle Slam — red lanes light up under whoever stands at the front of the sand, then erupt. Step sideways out of yours.

Crushing Embrace — a gold ring marks whoever stands farthest back, and an abyssal orb is lobbed onto it. Still inside when it lands, you are sealed in and crushed. Step out, or let Kawarimi take it.

Maelstrom Dominion — a whirlpool drags everyone on the water toward the Kraken, then collapses: the closer it pulled you, the harder it hits. Swim out, dash away or get to the sand.

Health, the enrage timer, the respawn and the loot are unchanged, and the boss now resets when a party wipes or leaves. The scroll teaches Kraken Summoning, which raises the Kraken behind you to strike when you strike, and the title is now 《Kraken Slayer》. Your progress and rewards carry over.

Night of the Hollow Moon, Oct 23 to Nov 9

Earn Embers from almost everything you do, on one ladder per account.

The Hollow Reaper (Lv72) appears in the wilds every odd hour for 10 minutes, and the Runaway Pumpkin runs at :15 and :45.

The Warden at the Hollow Moon Fair trades Moon Candies for treats, materials and Transmog Scrolls.

Ember rewards include the Pumpkin Staff, the Pumpkin Reaper's Cursed Hat and Shroud, and 12 season achievements.

Ranking prizes

The top 10 also win a Selection Chest: pick the piece, and it arrives at +0 with every stat at its maximum (purple) tier.

#1 — Bloodsword or Adamantine Staff, 300 Crystals and 《The Hollow Reaper》

#2 — Frostfang Sovereign Crown or Mantle, 200 Crystals and 《Moonbreaker》

#3 — a limited celestial attire or the Frostfang Sovereign Crown, 200 Crystals and 《Moonbreaker》

#4–10 — Golden Pendant, Sealing Talisman, Azure Prayer Beads or Gilded Talisman, 100 Crystals and 《Lantern Vanguard》

The ranking locks on Nov 9, and the top 10 can claim right away from 🎃 Halloween ▸ Rewards until Nov 16.

Inspect and password reset

Inspect: right-click a player (long-press on mobile) or open their card in Social to see their character and equipment. Prefer privacy? Settings ▸ Privacy ▸ Inspect ▸ Block.

Forgot password? on the login screen sends a reset link to your account's confirmed email. It works once and expires in 30 minutes.

Fixes

Tapping the Basic Attack key once no longer attacks twice.

Kawarimi can no longer blink you out through a door.

Closed an exploit that let a character wear a third ring.

The Playstyle Update — Melee Builds and 37 New Jutsu

Strength becomes a real build with STR-scaling jutsu and Attack Speed, nine clans get new names and free signatures, and 37 new jutsu arrive.

Melee becomes a real build, nine clans get new names and full kits, and 37 new jutsu arrive, most of them played in a way no jutsu in the game was before.

Melee is a real build

You told us melee "hasn't been useful since day one", and you were right: every jutsu scaled with INT.

11 jutsu now scale with STR, thrown weapons among them, and 21 are STR + INT hybrids: the lightning-wreathed strikes split 50/50, and the spiralling chakra sphere family takes 40% from STR.

STR jutsu hit with your Base Damage, the number your basic attack uses, so a better weapon raises both.

Every damaging card shows a badge: INT, STR, or a split such as STR 40% · INT 60%. Healing stays INT.

Playing pure INT? Thrown weapons and hybrids hit softer for you now, and a Respec Scroll (from raid chests, or 600 Crystals) refunds every point.

Attack Speed is a new stat from Reflex: a swing every 0.8 s at RFX 50, every 0.52 s at RFX 230, with stamina per swing scaled to match.

Every swing you see lands. Your swing starts the moment you press, and quick taps are never lost.

Inside a Shinobi Clash, STR jutsu and Attack Speed are evened out like everything else.

Nine clans, new names, 37 new jutsu

Nine clans have new names (same clan, same bonuses), and each gets a free Level 1 signature jutsu, already in your Skill Book. Each new card's badge says how it plays: ✋ hold to charge, ✋ stance to wait, or ⛓ string for three presses on one slot.

Ichor — Ichor Lash stacks Venom, Venom Rupture bursts every envenomed enemy, and Winding Wake poisons everyone you glide past.

Goldthread — Taut Line carries your basic attack down a golden thread, Sixfold Snare lays six tripwires, and Gilded Constellation nets up to five enemies to share your hits.

Shardlight — Splitting Prism splits into three rays, Facet Ward stores what it absorbs and fires it back, and Burning Glass focuses light until it burns.

Senori, the Thousand-Fold — Unfolding Star lodges and unfolds into razor sheets, Folding Screen raises five panels that each stop one shot, and Lantern Vigil spears enemies and heals allies.

Omoshi, the Weight-Stone Clan — Settling Stone gathers weight and crashes down, Gathering Landslide banks momentum as you walk, and Skyfall Throw hurls your target into the pack.

Muregari, the Pack-Hunters — Three-Claw Rend marks the prey, Scentline rips it from behind, and Encircling Hunt closes in with three afterimages.

Itohana — Thought-Seed blooms the moment an enemy acts, Recollection replays part of your damage, and Garden of Second Thoughts seeds a whole area.

Wellspring — Halo Disc flies out and returns, Pinpoint fires a piercing needle, Orrery launches a star with each damaging jutsu, and Floodgate pours out a 10-tile beam.

Bladesworn — Crossing Cut dashes through the pack, Held-Breath Draw answers the first enemy to step in, Horizon Cut splits a 10-tile line, and Stillpoint hits up to ×2.5 harder the lower your target's health.

Every clan — Comet Heel, War-Drum Cadence, Cloudbreaker Drop, Anchor Chain, Starchart Seal, Afterthunder Fist, Amber Hour (a dome of slowed time) and Mirage Waltz.

New shinobi and Mastery

At Level 2, new shinobi pick a first jutsu: Ranged (Refined Air Bullet), Close range (the spiralling chakra sphere) or Support (Medical: Heal), two ranks deep and slotted for you.

A gold ✦ badge shows whenever you have skill-tree points to spend.

Utility jutsu such as Transform earn 20 Mastery EXP when used in a fight, once every 20 seconds each.

Fixes you'll notice

Midas set: ranged kunai and dash slashes no longer crit every time while Tribute is armed, and Tribute keeps its 90-second cooldown.

Water Walking works on the river in The Glassworks raid.

When you are stunned, sealed or caught in an illusion, your slots grey out under a padlock with the reason.

The blow that ends an Arena or tournament bout no longer follows the loser home with its stun, burn or extras.

September 17: squads and clearer fights

Squad leaders can remove members. Press the small ✕ next to a name in Social ▸ your squad twice to confirm. It works on offline members too, and the removed player is told.

Protective Barrier shows on your squad. On desktop, every squadmate's health bar now shows the barrier they carry, with the amount beside it.

Hayate stops interrupting his own fight. In his last two phases in The Ash Foundry, a dialogue box opened mid-screen and asked for two taps while he attacked. His taunts now arrive in chat.

The Shinobi Clash header got out of the way on landscape phones: one compact line under the top edge with the clock, the leader and you.

Healing numbers are whole numbers again.

Desktop: Ctrl+1 no longer casts a jutsu on its way to switching browser tabs, and holding a number key no longer fires it over and over.

September 18: change your keys (desktop)

Open ⚙ Settings ▸ Controls, click a row and press a key. 41 actions can be rebound: nine jutsu slots, eight belt slots, every menu panel, movement, interact, basic attack, cycle target and substitution.

Your keys are saved to your account, with two layouts kept separately: keyboard, and TV & controller.

Taking a key that is already in use moves it and names the action left blank. The arrow keys always walk, and Reset all keys is one click.

Prompts follow your keys: move Interact off F and the prompt over an NPC shows your new key.

Settings has a real menu now: General, Controls, Gameplay, Interface, Audio and Privacy.

September 19: fixes

Maps no longer turn black or empty when you change area or enter a building.

E, F, Space and Tab are typed where you are typing again, in chat and on the login screens.

An ally's summons and clones are allies. In raids, rifts and squads they show a green name and Tab skips them, so clones beside you no longer soak up every press.

During a duel, Tab cycles only your opponent and their summons.

September 24: fixes

The gravity-pull jutsu now reaches its full 20 tiles; it only ever pulled from 10.

The space-time blink earns Mastery: it counts as a support action, so a kill shortly after the blink credits Mastery EXP.

Mission escorts keep up with you through portals, Tea routes included.

Invite a friend, teach them the game and earn robes, titles and a nameplate colour, while 319 enemies now each dress like who they are.

Teaching somebody the game now pays, all the way up a five-rung ladder. This update also gives every enemy in the world a look of its own, and fixes a list of things you reported.

Sensei & Student

Every shinobi now has an invite code in Social ▸ 🎓 Sensei & Student. Copy the code for chat, or share the link and it applies itself. Anyone who signs up with it becomes your student for good.

When your student comes back for a third day, you both get +100% XP for 2 hours.

A student "goes the distance" at seven different days played and level 60. Days, not hours: you are rewarded for someone actually staying.

Already playing and someone invited you? Name your sensei from the same panel while you are still on your way to 60.

The reward ladder

1 student — the Sensei Robe

3 students — the Sensei Cap and the title 《Sensei》

5 students — the Mentor nameplate colour, a teal nothing in the shop sells

10 students — the title 《Shishou》

Every student — 50 Crystals, up to 500 in a lifetime

The panel lists every rung, what it pays and how many students you still need. Rewards wait there until you claim them, and your students appear with their faces and progress.

Every enemy is a different person

The enemy roster used to share six shirts and a handful of haircuts. Now 319 enemies wear 319 distinct looks: trench coats and wide hats on the road, fishnet and taped fists in a brawl, village flak under a rank ladder. You can read what is coming before it reaches you, and each region has its own palette.

Friendly townsfolk across nine regions are properly dressed, and 69 half-dressed figures painted into the map art itself are gone.

Also new

👁 Hide the look of your gear with an eye toggle on the armor and head slots. You keep every stat.

The vault is sorted into categories with a search bar.

Every service NPC has its own icon on the minimap and the region map.

On a phone, long-press a player to open their menu, so duels finally work on touch.

Fixes

The death screen no longer stays over you after you respawn when you died and levelled up in the same instant.

In The Ash Foundry, Hayate's creations stop respawning after he falls.

The crafting bench works on a phone again; it was showing one recipe out of ninety-eight.

On desktop, number keys no longer cast a jutsu through an open Jutsu Book or item picker.

Closed a duplication exploit involving the free starter weapon.

Sealing Runes and a New Wardrobe for Every Enemy

Drag the airborne raid boss down with sealing runes, meet 319 enemies who no longer look alike, and spend skill-tree ranks on power instead of cooldown.

A new beat in The Ash Foundry raid, a world full of enemies who finally look like different people, and skill-tree ranks that make your jutsu stronger.

Sealing runes in The Ash Foundry

Once the Ash-metal Dragon falls and Hayate takes to the air, sealing runes flare on one of the plateaus. Stand in them and he is dragged out of the sky.

The runes flare at 85% of his health. Miss them and they return at 65%, then 45%: three chances in all.

You have 15 seconds to answer. There are two white rings, and both must be held at the same moment. Solo runs get a single ring.

He is pinned for 10 seconds, grounded and stunned, and takes double damage for the whole hold.

Catch one and that beat is spent for the run. Miss all three and he stays in the air.

Every enemy is a different person

Every hostile ninja used to be the same figure in a different shirt: 24 pieces of clothing shared between all 319 of them, and not a cloak, coat, mask, hat or set of armour among them. All 319 have been re-dressed, and no two look alike.

You can tell what is coming. A Highwayman wears a wide straw hat and a long road coat. A renegade masked operative is covered head to toe with no face showing. A Ruffian fights in fishnet with his fists taped. A Missing-Nin still wears his old village flak jacket with the plate scratched out. A Mercenary wears plate and arm guards and no headband at all.

Every region has its own colours: sand and bone around the desert village, slate and deep blue around the mist village, rust and stone around the stone village, lacquer red in Tea country.

Village ninja wear their rank. In the cloud and stone villages, a chuunin carries more gear than a plain shinobi, and a jounin more again.

18 new hairstyles (from 7 to 27), three new bodies and a 21-colour hair palette, all from art that had been sitting unused.

Nothing moved. Every enemy is exactly where it was, at the level it was.

Skill-tree ranks buy power

Every jutsu rank now adds +8% damage, healing or buff strength instead of cooldown.

The Lv45 and Lv60 capstones now grant a bonus; they used to give nothing but the unlock.

Skill cards show the ranked numbers, and ranks are evened out inside a Shinobi Clash so everyone still fights on equal footing.

Combat

Line of sight matters. Jutsu that need a target lock now need a clear line to the target. Untargeted area jutsu are unchanged.

The needle-ring jutsu is no longer invisible, and the possession jutsu now roots the caster while possessing.

Clash, Arena and crafting

Battle Buffs on the ground now show which buff they are, in the world and on the maps.

Clash Gates now open at nine different sites, about a third of them in the fields south of the forest village.

Squadmates matched against each other in the Arena can now fight.

Material tooltips say where a material actually drops, and the pouch shows your progress toward the material medal.

Fixes and quality of life

The death screen no longer sticks after you respawn if you died and levelled up at the same moment.

Night is gone: more daylight and a brighter world.

Your portrait no longer shows your character without clothes until you re-equip something.

The Join the Discord button no longer closes your game, and the blacksmith is usable on a phone.

The Shinobi Clash, an Eight-Player Free-for-All

A new live event where up to eight shinobi fight on identical stats for one win, and Clash Marks buy gear you cannot get anywhere else.

The Shinobi Clash is a new live event: an eight-minute free-for-all for up to eight shinobi in an instanced copy of the forest village. One winner, decided on play alone.

Everyone on the same footing

Inside the Clash every fighter gets an identical level-60 template: the same health, chakra, attack, dodge and cooldown speed. Your level and gear decide nothing once the Gate closes, so a Chuunin and a veteran arrive as equals. Buffs still count on top.

Your character is never touched. No experience is lost, no item is consumed, and any buff you carried is paused at the Gate and handed back when you step out.

How a match works

Everyone starts carrying one flag. The fallen drop theirs where they land. Hold the most when the horn sounds to win.

Battle Buffs appear during the match: Fury (+30% damage), Aegis (30% less damage taken), Focus (40% shorter cooldowns) and Gale (+50% movement speed for 45 seconds, which the leader cannot take). Stand on one to claim it; a second replaces the first.

The Void Strike Trap answers a runaway leader. Anyone not leading can arm it, and it strikes the leader after two seconds of warning. A leader who holds the ring alone can break it first.

Kills credit bounties and ranked contracts as they do in the open world, and summons fight everyone inside the Gate.

Joining

A Clash Gate opens every 15 to 30 minutes in the forest village or the fields just south of it. It is open to Lv29 and above, seats eight, and stays open for four minutes.

The Gate shows on your minimap and region map as a crimson marker with its name and how many shinobi are waiting, pinned to the rim when it is out of view.

Rewards are Clash Marks (1 for taking part, 4 for a win), plus Ryo and experience set so eight minutes in the Clash is never worse than eight minutes farming.

The Clash Quartermaster

He keeps a counter in every Weapon Store. Five exclusive Rare pieces, all upgradeable and transmoggable, and every one arrives with all attributes at the top tier:

An attire for 40 Marks: +6 defense, +160 max chakra, +5% jutsu power, and every jutsu that damages an enemy returns 25 chakra. A strong first purchase.

Frostfang Sovereign Crown (90 Marks) and Mantle (110 Marks). Worn together, your damaging jutsu leave the wounded slowed.

Adamantine Staff (145 Marks): +20 attack, +600 max HP, +10% jutsu power, +30 accuracy, and your clone jutsu forms two extra clones.

Bloodsword (160 Marks): +40 attack. Every melee hit strips 15% of the victim's defense for six seconds and opens a bleed.

Achievements and missions

17 Clash achievements worth 1,580 Achievement Points and 55 Chakra Crystals, plus two titles: Flagbearer for thirty victories and Unbroken for five victories without dying once.

New repeatables: a Clash daily and weekly (five matches, for 4 Clash Marks), and a Rift daily and weekly (close five, for 20,000 Ryo, fine crafting materials and two guaranteed legendary materials).

Also in this update

Stuns are about 40% shorter across the game. The longest stun falls from 4.5 seconds to 2.7.

Click the HUD clock to switch between your local time and server time (UTC); the Events Calendar follows. Every daily reset happens at 00:00 UTC.

Tab targeting returns to the nearest enemy after a brief pause, and the minimap shows about 30% more ground.

Allies can no longer damage your summoned puppet, and summons engage properly in duels and Arena bouts.

The Everything Under the Sun medal now counts every material already in your pouch.

Village War Rewards Now Match the War

War rewards now scale to the length of the war you actually fought, rare drops can be broken down, and rifts stay out of boss and raid areas.

A short release: a fix to Village War rewards, one balance change, and a handful of fixes to jutsu, crafting and rifts.

Village War

Rewards now scale to the length of the war that was actually fought. The participation requirement used to be a fixed twenty minutes, which nobody could reach in a war decided sooner. A full thirty-minute war still asks for twenty minutes; a war settled in seven asks for four and a half.

This covers the plundered vault as well as placement rewards, so a decisive early victory now pays out in full. Winning quickly is rewarded rather than penalised.

The 5 September Siege of Mist was settled by hand, with Ryo and Chakra Crystals paid to every shinobi who took part.

Balance

Spore Technique now deals 54 damage over time, down from 90, in line with comparable jutsu at its level.

Crafting

Three rare pieces that only come from drops, Tale's Scimitar among them, can now be broken down at the Craftsman. Their salvage follows their rarity, so gear you have replaced turns into materials and Fragments instead of sitting in your vault.

Dimensional Rifts

Rifts no longer open inside boss arenas, event grounds or raid areas. They still appear across the open world, so a rift is always somewhere you can travel to and leave again.

Jutsu

Two close-range strike jutsu now show as out of range when your locked target is beyond their reach, like every other range-limited jutsu. The cast is held back rather than spent, so you keep the chakra and the cooldown for a moment when it will land.

Mastery cards now describe the bonus each jutsu really receives. Four jutsu that deal no direct damage were advertising a damage bonus.

Three Days to Die now shows its real Mastery reward: a deeper cut to the healing its victims receive, reaching 20% at Mastery 20. The bonus was always applied; only the description was wrong.

No progression, inventory or Mastery levels were changed by this release.

Duels, a Right-Click Menu and a New Taunt Jutsu

Challenge anyone to a duel from a new right-click menu, pull and provoke enemies with a new clan jutsu, and claim a raid chest on every character.

Settle a rivalry on the spot, drag an enemy to your feet, and finally see your real health numbers. Several of these changes came straight from your reports.

Duels and the right-click menu

Right-click any character to open the game's own menu: Add Friend, Invite to Squad, Open character card and Duel. Text fields keep the normal browser menu, so copy and paste still work in chat.

Duels work inside villages, where PvP is otherwise off. The challenged player has 30 seconds to accept or decline, and declining costs nothing.

Both players see a 3-2-1 countdown, and the fight happens where you stand, with no loading screen. The result shows on the familiar Arena card.

Squadmates and shinobi of the same village can duel each other for the length of the bout.

Wins count for bounty contracts and ranked missions that name your opponent. Arena rating is not affected.

Players in Peaceful mode cannot duel. A bout lasts up to five minutes before it is a draw, and ends if either player leaves the map or logs out.

A new taunt jutsu for the ritual clan

Lv19, 120 chakra, 14-second cooldown. A dark-red seal flashes beneath you, a crimson pulse snaps out to your locked target, and blood-red tendrils drag them to your feet for 50 damage.

Against a monster it does something no other jutsu does: the enemy fights you and nobody else for 1.5 seconds. Mastery stretches that hold, up to 4 seconds at Mastery 20.

Against players only the pull lands. Forcing a person to attack you would be a stun by another name.

At Lv45 it upgrades to Congregation: 200 chakra, 22-second cooldown, no target needed. A circle about seven tiles across drags every enemy inside it to your feet and provokes every monster among them. It takes over the same slot and shares one Mastery track.

Raid chests are once per character

The daily raid-chest limit was being applied to your whole account, so clearing The Glassworks or The Ash Foundry on your main locked the chest for your alts. Each character now has its own daily claim, per raid and per difficulty.

The Ash Foundry is kinder to late deaths

Dying in phase 4 or 5, up on the plateau, used to send you back to the foot of the mountain, about 130 tiles away. You now stand back up on the corridor just below the plateau. Phases 1 to 3 are unchanged.

Your health numbers tell the truth

Your character did not change. The server multiplies your whole health pool by 1.6, and the interface was showing every number from before that step. Now Heavy Shinobi Armor shows +608 Max HP instead of +380, and one refinement level +90 instead of +56. Heals show what they really restore. Max Chakra, Defence and Stamina were never affected.

Also live

Pressing Tab once no longer makes your target flip between enemies on its own.

The Abyssal Kraken drops weapons on roughly half its kills, drawn separately from its Jutsu Scroll. Seven great pieces are in the pool, among them the Red Samurai Armor and the Blossomlight Staff.

Transmog Scrolls no longer drop from ordinary enemies, which they did by mistake for a few hours.

Peaceful mode no longer lets you capture or defend territory banners. Peaceful players do not count in the contest ring or earn capture rewards, and entering Peaceful mid-capture ends the attempt.

Transmog, Evasion and Healing You Gear For

Wear any look over your best stats, dodge becomes an Evasion rating with Accuracy to answer it, and healers finally get a stat and gear of their own.

The largest update since the alpha opened. Two systems change how you build a character, Evasion and Healing, and one changes how you look while doing it.

Transmog

At the transmog bench, feed a look item and a Transmog Scroll, and the piece you are wearing takes on its appearance. Stats, refines, attribute tiers and set bonus stay exactly as they were. Head, armour and weapon can all be disguised.

The look item is consumed, and reverting is free. Everyone sees the new look, down to your clones, your Henge copies and your profile card.

VIP supporters get a Transmog Scroll chest every month on their own subscription cycle. It is a chooser, not a random roll.

Dodge is now Evasion

Dodge was a flat percentage that gear could stack faster than anything could answer. Evasion is a rating on a curve: 150 gives a 10.9% dodge chance, 500 gives 22.2%, 1,600 gives 32.0%. Each point buys a little less than the last, and none buy nothing.

Evasion from gear is cut by 40%. Stacking it purely off affixes was a shortcut around a build rather than a build.

Accuracy is the new counter-stat. It subtracts from a defender's Evasion before the curve is read, and only against players, because only players have builds. It comes from the Ring of the Hawk (+80), the Seer's Pendant (+100), Tale's Scimitar (+60) and one of the eye techniques (+400 while active).

Healing is something you gear for

Healing used to be half of Jutsu Power and nothing else, so a damage caster healed more than a dedicated healer. Now every healing jutsu is cut to 65%, and a new Healing Bonus stat hands the difference back to whoever gears for it.

Gear for it fully and you heal exactly what you did before: +54% from the new healer gear, and 0.65 × 1.54 = 1.00. Shields are untouched.

New gear

Celestial Cloudweaver, the healer's set: with both pieces, your barriers absorb 35% more and cover one more ally.

Heavy Shinobi, for the front line: with the full set, every hit you take grants +3% damage reduction for 6 seconds, stacking five deep.

Blossomlight Staff: +20% healing and no Jutsu Power at all.

The Last Tale (Tale's Scimitar and Seer's Pendant): below 30% health, enemies cannot evade you.

None of it is sold. Each piece drops in its own region, roughly once in 300 kills, and has a crafting recipe.

Three pieces nobody could earn before can now drop, including a legendary greatsword reworked into a tank blade (+500 max HP) and an outfit that is the game's first item with a proc of its own: every spiralling chakra sphere you form hits for +30.

A new summon for the spore clan

Lv29, 50-second cooldown, lasts 12 seconds. A summoned ally grows out of the soil with a fifth of your health and drains your enemies with spores from range. It heals nobody while it drains, but when it falls or its time runs out, everything it drained comes back to you at once. Leave it standing and keep bleeding, or kill it and hand over the heal.

Fewer stuns, fairer brackets

Five jutsu no longer stun, including both lightning-wreathed strikes and the lightning dragon from the sky. The stuns that remain have longer cooldowns.

The Chuunin Tournament now seeds entrants by level and gear and pairs neighbours, so the closest matches come first.

Fixes

The Arena shows a result card when a bout ends.

Every helmet and hood now hides hair, and your clones hold a formation instead of stacking on one tile.

Cooldown Speed and 126 Jutsu Mastery Milestones

Cooldown reduction becomes Cooldown Speed with no wall, every jutsu earns its own Mastery milestones, Constitution pays more, and you get a free Respec Scroll.

This update rebuilds how cooldowns and Mastery work, so every point you invest keeps paying. Because it changes what your past choices are worth, every character that exists when it lands gets a free Respec Scroll, on top of any you already hold.

Cooldown Speed

The old cooldown reduction multiplied its sources together and stopped at 60%. Past that cap, every further point was worth nothing, and nothing told you.

Cooldown Speed replaces it. Every source adds into one number you can see, and the reduction comes off a curve that never reaches 100% but never stops paying.

The Agility passive alone gives +30% Cooldown Speed, cooldowns 23% shorter; Reflex 230 plus Agility 15 gives +84%, cooldowns 45.7% shorter. The very top of the ladder gets a little slower than before, and everyone below it gains.

The cooldown on the card is now the cooldown. The Skill Book and the wheel show the timer the server actually runs, and the wheel no longer makes you sit through a longer sweep than you have earned.

Every jutsu gets its own Mastery milestones

Mastery no longer grants cooldown reduction. Instead, each of the 126 Mastery tracks has its own milestone at Mastery 5, 10, 15 and 20, chosen to fit what that jutsu does.

31 jutsu get cheaper to cast (up to 20% less chakra), 26 buffs hit harder, 21 blasts grow (up to 20% more area), 15 jutsu reach further, 17 make their effect last longer, 6 make their damage over time hit harder, and 10 got a hand-picked bonus such as extra clones or another ally under a barrier.

Your per-level Mastery bonus (+1.5% a level, up to +30%) is untouched.

A milestone can never extend a stun, and no buff gets extra duration from one.

Constitution is a real choice

Each point you spend in CON now gives 9.6 HP instead of 6.4. A Lv60 with every point in CON goes from 5,712 to 6,288 HP. If you never put anything into CON, your health bar is exactly the length it was.

21 jutsu retuned

Cooldown Speed cannot push a cooldown below twice the jutsu's own duration, and twenty jutsu sat at or past that line, so the stat bought them nothing.

Some were up nearly all the time and were re-authored: Chakra Leech goes from 12 seconds up on a 12-second cooldown to 8 up on 21, and the four elemental masks from a 10 to a 20-second cooldown.

Others, including the eye techniques, had their cooldowns raised so the stat can reach them at all. A fully invested build waits exactly as long as before.

In the beast-vessel clan, the chakra bomb drops from 378 to 318 damage, and its cooldown rises from 30 to 45 seconds.

Arena and chat

Arena bouts run three minutes instead of two, and the Arena no longer conjures an opponent for a lone queuer.

VIP chat is now gold as promised: the message text, not just the name, on desktop and mobile alike.

Fixes

A new character no longer inherits the previous one's rift clear, and anyone Lv7 or above who has not cleared a rift is now pointed at the rift chapter.

A refused cast no longer spends the Village's Breath or leaves a phantom cooldown on the wheel.

Summoning no longer deletes your clones.

Room 2 of The Glassworks gives the squad a four-second grace before it seals.

A third daily Chuunin Tournament runs in the American evening.

The game and the Chakra Online Discord server are connected now. You can sign in with Discord, link it to the account you already have, and talk to the Discord channel without leaving the game.

Sign in with Discord

The login screen has a Continue with Discord button. One tap, approve, and you are in: no username, no password, no email to confirm.

On your first time, an account is made for you and you join the Chakra Online Discord on the way through.

Already have an account? Nothing changes. The button is an extra door, not a replacement.

Link your account, get five Elixirs

Open the menu, then Social, then Discord. If you signed up the ordinary way, an offer is waiting: link your Discord and you get one of every Elixir, Might, Focus, Warding, Vitality and Wellspring. It is once per account, delivered straight to the character you are playing.

The Discord channel, in game

There is a new chat channel. Type /d followed by your message (or /discord), or pick Discord from the channel list; the desktop HUD gives it its own tab.

What you send lands in the Discord channel, and what people say there shows up in your chat with a Discord tag. Your own messages appear on Discord under your Discord name and avatar.

It is for linked players only, both ways. If you have not connected your Discord, you will not see the channel or the conversation, and the game tells you how to join in when you try.

Your world chat does not go to Discord. Nothing you say in the game leaves it unless you deliberately send it on the Discord channel.

Images, files and stickers posted on Discord do not cross over. A picture with a caption arrives as its caption.

Unlinking

Use the same menu. If Discord is the only way into your account, you set a username and password first, so unlinking can never lock you out. The form is right there, and you can add a recovery email at the same time.

The account panel knows who you are

If you signed in with Discord, the game used to call you a guest and claim your progress was saved on this device. Neither was true. The character select screen and the account panel now name your Discord account and offer to add a username and password as a second way in.

Fixed

Hovering an item in the crafting bench made the whole list strobe and took your tooltip with it. The bench now redraws only when something actually changes, and never while you are hovering.

A Craftsman in every village turns 65 materials into perfect gear, vials and elixirs, and breaks your old gear down into Fragments found nowhere else.

There is a Craftsman in every village now, standing by the forge. Talk to him and you can make almost anything in the game.

Materials and recipes

65 crafting materials drop from enemies: timber and stone off anything, chakra essences and gems off tougher foes, and a handful only from a miniboss. Six are region-locked, such as Sea Kelp around the mist village and Rock Salt from the desert village.

Materials live in their own pouch, so they never clog your bag or your vault.

71 pieces of equipment are craftable: every weapon, hat, mask, robe and jewel in the game, except the Black Elite outfit, which never will be.

A crafted piece always arrives with every attribute at its top rung. No rolling, no luck: if you can pay for it, it is perfect.

17 consumable recipes, from bandages up.

Pick a recipe and the bench lists what you are short of and the gentlest place to farm it.

Breaking things down

Bring the Craftsman gear you have finished with and he takes it apart. You get materials back, plus Fragments, which exist nowhere else in the game and which every equipment recipe needs. A refined piece gives back more. Gear you are wearing is safe; take it off first.

The Campfire Kit, vials and elixirs

Campfire Kit: drop it and it burns for a minute, mending you and every ally within about five tiles for 60 HP every three seconds. It is the only thing you can place that helps somebody else.

Four vials: Life (1,600 HP), Chakra (500), Vigor (900 stamina) and Cleansing, which purges every burn, bleed, poison, stun and slow on you.

Five Elixirs, three minutes each: Might (+10% melee damage), Focus (+10% jutsu power), Warding (10% less damage taken), Vitality (+10% maximum HP, handed to you on the spot) and Wellspring (+10% maximum chakra). They do not stack: drink a second and it replaces the first, so pick the one your build wants for this fight.

Materials from everything

Daily missions pay 3 materials, weeklies 6 from a better band.

Raid chests pay 3 on Solo, 5 on Normal and 8 at double quantity on Hard.

The Abyssal Kraken always gives 3–5 of a random rare weapon material to everyone who fought it.

16 crafting achievements

Five ladders worth 1,400 Achievement Points in total. The last, Everything Under the Sun, wants all 65 materials.

Also new

The Mission Board has three tabs: Main for the story, Repeatable for daily and weekly PvP work, and Ranked for the mission desk. A raid you are in stays pinned above the tabs.

Opening a chest or finishing a craft now plays a proper reveal.

The Village War weekly pays a Weapon Chest: one of six great blades, at random.

The Jewelry Chest now rolls its attributes like any other drop; the three Epic Selection Chests still deliver a perfect piece.

The giant spectral guardian's aura hits three times harder, 27 damage a second instead of 9.

Recipe tooltips now show the top-tier stats a craft actually gives you.

Solo Raids, the Consumable Belt and a Shared Vault

Take both raids on alone up an endless Solo ladder, fire potions and traps from a new belt, and share one vault across every character on your account.

This update lets you take both raids on by yourself, puts your potions and traps one keypress away, and turns the vault into one stash for your whole account. A few things change on existing characters the moment you log in, so start there.

What changes when you log in

Your jutsu bar is smaller. Desktop goes from 17 slotted jutsu to 9, the mobile chakra wheel from 16 to 9. Every jutsu is still learned; anything past the limit just needs re-slotting. The freed space became the consumable belt.

Consumables recharge by category: four separate 60-second timers for HP, Chakra, Stamina and Travel, instead of one shared 8-second timer.

Log in once on each character so its old stash merges into the shared vault. Refinements and rolled attribute tiers travel with the item.

A free Respec Scroll for every character that existed before this update.

Solo raids and an endless ladder

Both raids now offer Solo, Normal or Hard. The Glassworks opens Solo from Lv20, The Ash Foundry from Lv45.

Solo pays exactly what Normal pays: 2,500 Ryo and 0.25 levels at The Glassworks, 4,000 Ryo and 0.35 levels at The Ash Foundry. Story chapters 3, 8 and 13 accept a Solo clear, and the Jounin Trial no longer needs a party.

Solo is a ladder with no cap. Every clear unlocks the next rung, and every rung raises the enemies' level by 1. Rung 1 is the fight it always was; deep enough, Solo is harder than Hard.

The chest never changes with the rung. You climb for the fight and for the new Solo Mode Ranking at every raid door.

Hard raids hit like Hard

Ren Ashblade's health doubles to 160,000 and his attack to 400, Hayate's attack doubles to 330, and every telegraphed blast deals double damage. Normal and Solo are untouched.

Both raids take a squad of 3–5, and squad seats follow the leader's rank: Genin 3, Chuunin 4, Jounin 5.

The belt and real traps

Desktop: eight amber slots on Shift+1 to Shift+8. Mobile: the fourth wedge of the chakra wheel. The belt is saved on the server, so it follows you from PC to phone.

Caltrops and Tripwires sat in the shop doing nothing. Now they are placeable traps: a Caltrop deals 25 damage plus a bleed, a Tripwire 6 damage plus a 4-second slow. Each catches the first hostile to touch it, and they never bite you, your squad or your war allies.

A new jutsu: Body Replacement: Kai

The swap that breaks every hold on you: Lv19, 220 chakra, 30-second cooldown. It clears every crowd-control effect including stun, and it is the one jutsu you can cast while stunned.

The story stops walling you

Out-level the Chuunin Tournament (Lv24) or the Ash Foundry raid (Lv48) and the story moves on. The beat stays owed and completable; nothing is granted for skipping it.

Fixes

The Abyssal Kraken respawns every 12 hours instead of 24, and no longer greets you already enraged: its fight clock starts on the first real hit, and a wipe always resets it.

The five Region Explorer medals and Flawless Beast Hunter can finally be earned, because walking into a map now counts.

The Water Dragon's bite animation plays, Taren finally has something to say about the last trial, and Dagan no longer rewinds your story.

An unfinished chapter shows Still open instead of Complete.
